Personal Brand 101: Why 87% Of Agents Look Identical

Your brand is not your logo. It is not your brokerage's color palette. It is the specific reason a seller picks you out of 20 Zillow agents in the same 5-mile radius.

The test

Pull up 5 agent websites in your market. Cover up the names. Can you tell them apart? If the answer is no, neither can your sellers. That's why they pick whoever has the most Zillow reviews, not the best agent.

The 4 ingredients of a real brand

1. A specific niche. "Luxury Scottsdale" is not a niche. "Scottsdale homes $2M-$5M with pools and mountain views" is. The narrower, the stickier.

2. A point of view. "I think Zillow estimates are wrong and here's why." Your POV makes sellers disagree or agree. Either way, they remember you.

3. A visible track record. Volume in dollars, volume in count, and average days on market. Post them. Put them on your signature. Put them on your door.

4. A signature move. Something you do that nobody else does. Mine is the Zeune Comping Protocol. What's yours? If the answer is nothing, that's your assignment this week.

How to find your signature move

Look at your last 10 closed deals. What did you do in at least 8 of them that most agents don't do? Name it. Write it down. Use it in every listing presentation for 90 days. It becomes your thing.

Why brand is survival, not vanity

87% of agents fail because they compete on price or proximity. Brand is how the 13% compete on memory. When a seller's neighbor asks who to call, your name is the only one they can remember. That's the only marketing that actually compounds.

OctoPie gives every agent a hub-and-spoke mini-site, auto-generated content, and a brand voice engine trained on the top 13%. Your brand runs itself.
